She was a radio news reader at the Indonesian Section BBC World Service in London, and also was teaching Indonesian language at SOAS London. She had experinece of lived in various countries (Tanzania, Myanmar, Indonesia) following her husband’s work within the UN. With her family (two teenage children), now lives in a 17th century house in a village just outside Portsmouth in Hampshire. British passport holder and holds a DBS certificate (Disclosure & Baring Service, a UK Home Office non departmental body on criminal record clearance of its citizen). She has been working with with Mirang Kim since 2017 in the capacity as host family for Korean students on their half term holiday.

With over 20 years of experience in being guardian for Korean students , she has the capability and knowledge in assisting students to apply for music scholarship into public schools in the UK. She lives in UK since 2005 and successfully raised her daughter to become a well-accoladed double base musician. Mirang's husband is a professor of Chinese Literature at Portsmouth University. She lives in Portsmouth, and her home is in a very strategic location not very far from the main tourist attractions and shopping centres. She holds a permanent resident in the UK , and in her spare time she teaches violins for children. Over the years, she developed a great knowledge and experience in networking with various public schools in the southern part of United Kingdom and very well connected with the Korean community in England.
